Who You're Traveling With
My name is Thinley Norbu, and I've been running Samdrup Norbu Adventures out of Thimphu since 2014.
I have a civil engineering degree and still run a construction company here in Bhutan — but I've always loved travel, and I noticed something that bothered me: visitors coming all the way to Bhutan were being handed the same fixed itinerary as everyone else. The same roads. The same stops. The same schedule.
That felt wrong. Bhutan is one of the most extraordinary places on earth, and no two travelers who come here are looking for the same thing. So I started Samdrup Norbu Adventures with one principle: your trip is yours to design. Tell me what you want to see, how fast or slow you want to move, what matters to you — and I'll build the itinerary around that.
Over ten years later, that's still how every trip we plan works.
Our mission
Creating unforgettable Bhutanese adventures, one journey at a time.
Your Journey, Our Commitment
Full Customization
Most operators in Bhutan offer fixed packages. We don't. Every itinerary starts with a conversation about what you want. Want to skip Punakha and spend extra days in Bumthang? Done. Want a cooking class with a local family? Done. We say yes first and figure out the logistics second.
Everything Included, No Surprises
Your price covers 3-star accommodation, all meals, a licensed English-speaking guide, private transport, all entrance fees, and the government SDF. The only thing not included is your international airfare into Paro. No hidden charges. No extras on arrival.
A Real Local, Not a Booking Platform
When you write to us, you're writing directly to Thinley — a Bhutanese person who has lived here his whole life. You're not dealing with a foreign agency that subcontracts everything. What you arrange is exactly what you get on the ground.
